What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Trigestrel?

hi,I m 22 years old and trying for a baby.I was on injection for 8weeks and I stopped but for 3 months my period had been irregular so I was advised by a pharmacist to take Trigestrel pills for 28 days.after 3days I had light bleeding for 7 days.I want to know if that was a real period? and will my cycle be regular the following month??

Hi I think you might had a withdrawal bleeding after taking the trigestrel pills. It is an oral contraceptive pill which suppresses ovulation and results in withdrawal bleeding after stopping it. I think you should consult a gynecologist. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of irregular periods. If anything is abnormal, it can be treated. You can track your ovulation by repeated ultrasound or by ovulation detection kits and see if ovulation is happening or not. If ovulation is not happening, you can go for ovulation induction with timed intercourse for conceiving. Hope it helps.
