What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Stopping Birth Control Pills?
I have bright red blood when I wipe my vagina after going to the bathroom. I lost my birth control half way through the pack a couple months ago and have had this since then but it seems more consistent recently. I have been back on birth control since my period following that. My periods have been normal as far as I can tell. I do have vaginal itching though with this. I am just wondering what this is?
Your bleeding could have been considered a side effect or withdrawal bleed from discontinuing your birth control, but at this stage where many months have passed you should have returned to your normal cycle.
I thus suspect some other underlying cause to be contributing to such a presentation. Returning on birth control may have also caused some disruption in normal functioning, and could have caused some amount of bleeding again. If at all the bleeding does not subside in a few days or weeks, then we should seriously consider further investigation.
Vaginal itching also raises some doubt, and so I would recommend a urine analysis and physical examination during a doctors visit.
Best wishes.
