What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Having Protected Sex?

I had protected sex about four days ago (It was Saturday night, today is Wednesday). But earlier today, I started bleeding. My period is not supposed to occur until twelve days from now (I have a tracker). Did having sex alter my cycle or is this a sign that I could be pregnant? I did my research but nothing was as helpful as just asking a doctor.

Dear client,

If this is your first sexual encounter then bleeding is a normal phenomenon due to breaking of hymen. If bleeding resembles your usual periods bleeding, then there are low chances of pregnancy. To rule out pregnancy a simple home pregnancy test will be needed.
