What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Hysterectomy?

I am nine days post op for tah hysterectomy and tumour removed. Ovaries and cervix taken as well. Day eight and today I have started to bleed fresh blood. Have rested completely today but still bleeding. Not heavy but have to change pad four times over 12 hours. Uncomfortable but not in pain. Is this anything to be concerned about.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Bleeding for a few days post-op after a procedure such as yours is normal, and should not be a cause for concern. But your bleeding does seem moderate. I would advise waiting for a few more days (2-5) and watching the bleed. If it seems to be reducing then you need not report to your doctor, but if it does then you best report the same to your doctor.

Best wishes.
