General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Allegra ( Fexofenadine) won't if the allergic reaction is severe. In such case short course corticosteroids like Methyl Prednisolone will be needed. You can go for an allergic test after consulting allergist/ immunologist to find out the causative agent. Once the acute episode is over then anti histamines like Fexofenadine and mast cell stabilzers like Monteleukast can be taken daily for prophylaxis.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
