What Causes Urinary And Stool Incontinence After A Back Surgery?

I had back surgery 3 weeks ago and I just had my catheter removed yesterday and I ve been having the feeling of needing to pee but when I go to the bathroom is can t unless I strain. Also I ve also had issues with bowel movements since my surgery. I ve only had maybe 3 or 4 bowel movements in 3 weeks. And they have been tiny. But back to the bladder issue if I strain does it still count as much bladder emptying and the 3 times I ve peed 2 of those times there was blood in my urine.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this incontinence. In most cases, the nerves have been damaged. I will suggest that you ask your doctor directly what might have gone wrong during the surgery.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
