What Causes 'ureaplasma Urealyticum' Infection?

hellow online doctors:)
I'm just wondering, what does it mean to have an unbalanced Ureaplasma Urealytikum? How does a person get this ? by having sex with someone? or is it maybe just a family disease? my doctor recommends me to take some antibiotic! But I just need to know more about the disease before!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is not a sexually transmitted infection or an inherited family disease. It is a bacteria that can sometimes be present in different areas of the body.

It can be transmitted from mother to child or direct contact between persons.

It would be best to take the medication that your doctor has prescribed to help treat the infection.

I hope this helps
