What Causes Upper Left Shoulder And Head Pain?

I have had pain in my upper left shoulder and left side of my head since yesterday. I went to the chiropractor yesterday evening. The pain is just behind my ear. It feels swollen, and hurts to be touched. I ve had the head pain since yesterday. It was so severe in the middle of the night it was causing me to have a difficult time sleeping. I ve taken muscle relaxer, tramadol, used essential oils to help with pain. Used a massage pillow last night Today I ve noticed the left side of my face feels similar to after a visit to the dentist. I have a hard time blowing my nose. My left eye feels odd and I have difficulty shutting just my left eye.

A blocked nose may indicate a sinus infection or a pharyngeal infection. Many throat or nasal infections can cause behind the ear pain when lymph nodes are swollen.

Lymph nodes often get swollen with infection because the bacteria reaches the lymph node and causes a inflammatory reaction. Most people would benefit with antibiotics in case of an infection. It would be a good idea to discuss the chance of infection with your doctor.

Getting a complete blood count can be useful to confirm an infection as well. A raised white blood count usually indicates an infection.
