What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain?

Hello, I would like to know what would these symptoms be? I seem to have a sharp pain that seems to las between 1 to 5 minutes and then it just goes away. I feel the pain in my upper right side of my stomach and at times it will move to my left side. I noticed the pain after continuous weekends of drinking alcohol.

Hi.
The most probable cause of such spasmodic pains in the right upper abdominal area particularly after continuous weekends of drinking alcohol is suggestive of the following reasons.
Gall stones with intermittent colic;
Pancreatitis or
intestinal obstruction.
Occasional cases of ureteric colic.
The easiest way is to go for:
Blood- amylase and lipasecomplete blood picture, kidney functions tests, blood sugar fasting and post-lunch,
Urine- routine,microscopy, culture and sensitivity ( before start of antibiotic)
Ultrasonography of the abdomen and Upper GI Endoscopy.
Once the diagnosis is made the treatment will be according to the findings.
Till then oral water may be allowed.
