What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea?

I have never had anything like this happen to me. I was laying down resting and I felt a bad pain in my lower left part of my body. It felt like it could be in my colon. I went to the bathroom, and I pooped and then I still did not feel well. I sipped a bit of water and then used the bathroom again. This time it was watery and I did that several more times today. I now feel much better, I haven t eaten hardly anything. This might be nothing, as I ate too much raw spinach the day before, and if I eat too many high fiber foods, I use the bathroom a lot. However, I have never had the pain which I did. I am generally in very good health, I am on the plump side and I am trying to loose weight. Should I be worried about this??? Please help! Thank-You. RSG.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of upper abdominal pain and diarrhea which is most probably due to all of the changes taking place in your body such as electrolyte imbalance and due to underlying medical condition. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to get up slowly and do not lie down right after eating , eat small meals or snacks often ,try not to skip meals. You should avoid intake of outside food. You should eat cold food instead of hot, as it may not smell as strongly , sniffing lemons or ginger can sometimes help an upset stomach. If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days the consult gynecologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with antibiotics .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
