Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been bleeding for 6 weeks it started like a normal period and has gotten worse as time passes. No real pain to speak of but this is very unusual for me. I didn t have my period for the month before this. It is now very heavy spurts of blood and clots that are large and stringy. Thanks for the help.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Continuous bleeding for weeks following a period of amenorrhea is suggestive of abnormal uterine bleeding. There are various causes for abnormal uterine bleeding like fibroid, hormonal imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia etc. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations like ultrasound of pelvis and endometrial curretings/ biopsy. Management can be planned after clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
