What Causes Unexplained Bruising On Legs?

I was awakened in the middle of the night early Wednesday morning with pain in my thigh. I looked and there was a bruise and what looked like a scratch (red little bumps all in a row). I do not know how I got the bruise. The area where the bruise is very sore and it has a throbbing pain. It is Saturday now and the bruise is blackish purple (5 inch by 2 inch) and there is a white line going through the middle of the bruise. I ve been putting ice on the bruise, took a hot bath with epsom salts, massaged the area, and put heat on it. It still hurts very badly and pain medication does not help. Can you please let me know your thoughts on this?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such lesion could be due to formation of abscess, right now condition can be managed with "Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg three times in day, but condition can be watched for infection and abscess, and in my opinion better to get done the clinical examination, hope this information helps, take care.
