What Causes Ulcers On The Tongue And White Gums?

hi doctor i am 25 male. height 6.2 weight 77. lately i have been facing some problem inside my mouth . my gums are turning white and i have ulcers in my tongue and bit of throat pain and ear pain . i have quit smoking after these symptoms but used to smoke 5 ciggarettes a day i started smoking 3 years back . i am afraid i have oral cancer as the symptoms are very much similar to what i found in google. i am a hypochondriac but scared as hell what should i do?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that gums turning white along with ulcers on tongue and gum and throat pain can be due to causes like viral infection while can also be due to Apthous Somatitis causing apthous ulcers..
Pain in ear and throat can be secondary to throat infection..

It does not seems to be probably cancerous..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Oral Swab culture, blood test and if needed a biopsy from the ulcers can be done to rule out the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now completely quit smoking and also do numbing mouthwash gargles like Lignocaine to relieve pain..
You can also suck ice and drink plenty of water..
Take Vitamin B complex supplements and also take Ibuprofen to relieve pain in ulcers..
