Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son was hit with a football in his eye, right after he was hit he got a headache and blurred vision but it went away a few hours after. About 30 minutes after the accident his eye started to twitch and it hasn t stopped. It has been 4 days since the accident. Should I worry?
As per your query your son had hit with a football in his eye, right after he was hit he got a headache and blurred vision and now there is twitching of eyes . Well there can be many reasons for twitching of eyes like :-
- eye irritation (or conjunctiva) - fatigue - lack of sleep - side effects of medication - stress - use of alcohol, tobacco, or caffeine - hyper activation of nerve
But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to irritation of eye due to some foreign body get inside during injury or nerve dysfunction . I would suggest you to wash you eyes with cold water properly 2-3 times a day , apply warm compresses to eye , If condition still persist then consult ophthalmologists for proper examination . Doctor may clean the eye and prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory or sedative .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
