What Causes Trouble In Swallowing Saliva But Not Food?

Difficult swallowing saliva but not food or water. This has been happening to me for almost 15 days. I cannot swallow my saliva( not full day just sometime esp in the afternoon and evening but sometime in the morning as well ) but I can swallow food or water without any issue. It does not hurt while swallowing saliva just it hard to swallow. What causes this problem? and what I have to do? Thank you in advance! Age: 23 yrs Height: 173(cm) Weight: 57 ( kg)

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there was any obstruction or serious issue with the throat or esophagus then there should be difficulty in swallowing other liquids and possibly solid foods as well.

The fact the problem occurs only with saliva and not all of the time, indicates that it is not likely related to any serious condition.

If you have allergies and you are experiencing a post nasal drip with mucus along with the saliva, it is possible that the increased thickness may be having an effect.

I hope this helps
