What Causes Tongue Whitening After A Piercing?

Hi I just got my tounge web pierced 3 days ago. The skin around the web it s turning white, there are two flaps of white skin. I read online that this is just part of the healing process and is tissue. Is this true? I know for a fact it isn t plaque and that the piercing is not infected. It s barley even sore! Thanks

hello

If you do not have pain , soreness or discharge coming from the piercing site , then there is nothing to worry and the whitening is a part of the healing process. To be on the safer side i would like you to rinse your mouth with an antiseptic solution like chlorhexidine mouth wash 2-3 times a day for 4-5 days, this will prevent an infection from occurring.

Thanks
