What Causes Tongue Gland Discoloration And Throat Lump Pain With Dysphagia?

Hi, just below my tongue I have some white stuff which I am able to squeeze from my gland... Is this my gland? I have two of them. Always on the right gland and I have had a lump on the right side of my throat. It's painful to eat and I seem to have lost my sense of taste and smell. Since this white stuff has come out, my lump in throat has gone down but still doesn't feel right. Is this the start of salivary stones?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a white stuff under the tongue which could be squeezed from the gland seems to be salivary duct stones and it is formed from minerals present in saliva and if they are superficially present in the duct of the gland they can be felt by palpating..
The lump under the jaw can be due to blocked duct of the gland leading to backflow of saliva back to the gland as it is unable to flow in mouth and the swelling gradually reduces when the saliva slowly seeps out..
The loss of taste and smell does not seems to be due to it and can be due to a number of causes like Nerve damage, sinus infection, upper respiratory infections , head injury etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation treat you according to the cause..
The stones can be removed by pushing towards the ducts while large obstructing stones needs surgical removal..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
