What Causes Tiredness And Weight Gain After Undergoing Total Thyroidectomy?

This is the 2nd time my Synthroid dosage has been changed. Started with 100 for a month and was tested results came out then Dr. gave me a higher dosageto 137. I was fine for 3-4 days but gradually began to feel so sleepy after eating. I'm sleeping very good at night and then a long afternoon nap. I have had a total thyroidectomy and waiting for the thyrogen and radiation iodine. Why am I so tired all the time, I'm beginning to gain weight.
