Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
There are a large number of conditions that may cause similar symptoms. I will discuss the most common and frequent problem- diabetes.
The diabetes is a syndrome of diseases characterized by high blood sugars. The symptoms of the patient when they seek are usually easy
fatigue,
tiredness, thirt,
dry mouth, increased urination (often smelly) and very often loss of weight and increased appetite.
The condition is usually difficult to diagnose and needs blood tests- fasting and post prandial blood sugars, and HbA1C. The tests are easily available usually and the reports can confirm or negate the presence of diabetes.
There are many other conditons that show similar syndrome but thirst and dry mouth are usually not the symptom in them.
Still, I would suggest testing
Thyroid stimulating hormone, Kidney function tests,
complete blood count and ECG. Some of the tests will help even in evaluation for more details in case sugars turn out to be high.
If it turns out to be diabetes, the treatment options will depend on many factors. The options of tablets and
insulin are both open to patients.
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.
