What Causes A Constant Static Sound In My Ears?

Recently I ve noticed a constant sound in my ears almost like static . Also, when I turn my head it seems like the volume increases for a split second. I m not sure if I would describe the sound as ringing but maybe that s how other people describe it, not sure if this is the same thing.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of tinnitus which can be due to acoustic neuroma, ear wax buildup, inner ear infection and age related hearing loss.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Apply warm dry compresses.

- Start taking ginkgo biloba supplement and drink green tea thrice a day.

- Put anti-inflammatory ear drops.

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order tests like hearing test, examination with otoscope and CT scan. Doctor may remove wax , prescribe antibiotics in case of infection , anti inflammatory , corticosteroid ear drops and may refer you to dentist in case of TMJ related problems .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
