What Causes Tinnitus And Hearing Loss When Suffering From Sinusitis?

I had a sinus infection 3 months ago. I ve had several throughout my life. I got put on antibiotics and my ear was still messed up. Went back got put on diff antibiotics. It didn t help. My right ear has been ringing non stop and I feel pressure in it. I went to an ent he looked didn t see anything. I took a hearing test and it showed some hearing loss. I ve never had any hearing loss etc before the last sinus infection. I had an mri and the only thing it showed was that my right sinus is almost completely filled with cysts. The dr still doesn t know what s going on. Now he wants a catscan. Could the cysts be the problem? I m only 40 and never had hearing issues. The ringing is making me crazy it s so loud and never stops. I m worried because my dr seems like he has no idea what s going on.

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having tinnitus and hearing problems with sinusitis.
My response to your question is as follows.

These symptoms indicate inflammation of middle ear associated with sinusitis. The most common causes are otitis media or serous otitis media. This requires treatment by the use of decongestant drugs along with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs for treatment of sinusitis.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for any further questions and I will be happy to answer and assist you.

Thank you
