What Causes Tinnitus And Ear Congestion?

Hi. This is my 7 day with robotic/mettalic sound when i speak or hear. Especially when I hear children and women voices. My right ear is fine. I m also sensitive to sound like if it s rumbling in my head. When it s quiet I don t hear anything. I haven t been sick I just woke up like this. I do remember I had this for about 9 years ago, but it went away about 4-5 days. My ear does not feel 100% clogged maybe a little bit. I m also 7 month pregnant and I m afraid this is permanent. I feel I can hear normal but all the noises does make me deconcentrated

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

Tinnitus is common issue and most casuses are benign and temporary. However it this lasts for longer period then it should be evaluated.

Tinnitus can occur due to causes like chronic ear infection, perforated eardrum, Eustachian tube dysfunction, Meniere's disease, TMJ disorders, Acoustic Neuroma etc.

Tinnitus is not a disease in itself but it is a symptom that indicates that there is some underlying illness. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised..
