What Causes Tingling Sensation On The Tongue Along With Dry Throat?

I am 45 years old female. About 2 years, I have noticed my breathe was dry. I was advised by the doctor / dentist to drink plenty of water. I am not a junk food eater but within the last 2 years, I have had two root canals and 4 fillings with no gum disease. Last year, I had a physical to test my thyroid and sugar with normal results. Now, it is getting worse with a tingling / scraped feeling in the middle of my tongue, dry throat and inner part of my lips.
It is frustrating when I see my peers standing away or pressing a finger or hand near their nose when I begin to talk on a personal level and in a meeting. I am flossing most of the day and I brush my teeth three times at work including my routine at home. it seems as though chewing gum and keeping a bottle of water with me at all times is not helping the situation

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the burning and scalding feeling over the tongue and tingling along with having a dry mouth and dry throat is pointing towards a condition known as Burning Mouth Syndrome and it is occurring secondary to dry mouth..
Bad breath also occurs due to same cause..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations to rule out the underlying cause of dry mouth like salivary gland disorders, nerve damage oral thrush, hormonal imbalances, side effects of medicines can help in proper treatment and relieving the symptoms..
As of now you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to relieve pain..
You can gargle with specialized mothwash for dry mouth patients like Biotene..
You can chew flavoured sugarfree chewing gums.
You should instil artificial saliva drops in mouth..
You should brush twice a day and not more as it further has drying effect in mouth along with regular mouthwashes..
Avid spicy foods and take a soft diet..
Suck ice and do cool water rinses..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
