General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Tingling and other abnormal sensations are related to abnormal function of the nerves, this is called neuropathy.

Neuropathy can be permanent or temporary and there are are a number of different causes.
In your case, where the onset is sudden, it may be best to be seen by a doctor for assessment.

Some causes of neuropathy include: (1)trauma to the spinal cord or related nerves
(2)infection- there are some infection that can affect the nerves emerging from the spinal cord
(3)liver or kidney disease
(4)diabetes
(5)low levels of vitamin b12 or folate
(6)thyroid disease
(7)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(8)neurological conditions such as G. Barre disease, MS, stroke

You would need blood tests such as complete blood count, ESR (checks for inflammation in the body), liver and kidney function, thyroid function tests, diabetes screening, vitamin levels

I Hope this helps
