What Causes Tingling In Hands?

Hi,
I have noticed that i am getting mild tingling in my hands when driving the car and holding the steering wheel.
Also affects my right hand when using the mouse on the PC or when laying and reading a book with my hands elevated. Any help would be appreciated on what it might be.
Thanks

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you may be having bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. You can test this by acutely flexing your wrists will lead to tingling in fingers. You can get nerve conduction tests of forearm and hand ,thyroid function test and blood sugar test to further investigate it.Treatment of it is rest to wrist and anti inflammatory such as ibuprofen. Local injection of triamcilone in carpal tunnel give good result when applied in sheath. Sometimes surgery may be needed in refractory cases.Surgery is carpal tunnel release operation. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any further questions then don't hesitate to writing to us . I will be happy to help you.
