What Causes Tingling In Hand With History Of Carpal Tunnel Surgery?

90-yr-old parent is complaining of tingling in left hand (only). She says a sensation goes up your fingers but not the arm. She had carpal tunnel surgery on that side many years ago. Is there any heart or other serious issue associated with this symptom? Thank you.
