What Causes Tingling And Burning Sensation In The Tongue?
I had an allergic reaction it started out with my face and lips tingling and burning, as time went by it started affecting my whole upper body, as time went by it was in my lower body, my voice started getting sore, my tong started tingling real bad and felt like it was started swelling. Could this be caused from effexor xr . I will not pay to get my results when there are plenty of free internet sites.
As per your complain the symptoms that you have explained of having tingling and burning of lips and then it is causing burning and swelling of tongue leading to Glossitis and Allergic Angioedema of tongue..
It can be due to allergic reaction to the tongue caused by Effexor that contains active ingredient Venlafaxine that is an antidepressant.. It can also be due to other causes like allergic reaction to any foods, poison ivy, detergents, soaps, skin cosmetics etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and blood test to rule out the cause of allergy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordigly..
You can be advised oral and injectable anti allergics like Levocetrizine, Allegra etc along with steroid shot to reduce burning and swelling faster..
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
