Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently discovered a white, thrush type covering on my tongue. I am a 63 year old female, relatively healthy. Retired RN. I looked thrush up online, and I continue to be directed to HIV and lupus sites. Have not been on antibiotics in at least 6 months. Had a flu shot last week.
According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that you have developed a fungal infection of your tongue. Dont worry antifungal medications are required. I would suggest you to get an examination done by an Oral Surgeon. Take multivitamin suplements. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.
Take care! Dr Ammara.
