What Causes Throbbing Pains In The Chest?

I have a dull, throbbing pain in my chest. It seems to be about an inch up and an inch to the right of my sternum. It occurs every five, seven or ten seconds average. I do have some GERD symptoms which I m taking Prevacid and Zantac 150 for, which was helping me, for the most part. I ve also been diagnosed with gallstones, which seem to have other symptoms I m familiar with.

Hi Welcome to HCM.

I understand your concern. The throbbing chest pain in your case is largely related to underlying GERD and Gall stones. This can cause acid reflux to cause you the chest pain. Also gall stones have contributory effect.I advise you to have an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to document associated peptic ulcer along with 24 hr PH manometry to assess the severity of GERD.Drugs like Pantoprazole will hep to control the symptoms if taken for 21 continuous days .Surgical procedures like Nissen's fundoplication will help to permanently cure your condition.Consult your Gastroenterologist with regards to above.Post your further queries,if any.
Thank you.
