What Causes Throbbing In The Head When Exposed To Sun?

I spent 4 hours in the sun yesterday without applying sunscreen. I do not have much hair on the top of my head so I have very little protection. I also was not wearing a hat. The problem is that after spending over 45 minutes in the sun, the top of my head will throb for several days. Why does this happen?

I understand your concern.The history you are giving is very classical for 'Migraine'.Headache in 'migraine' is typically episodic,throbbing,each episode usually lasting from hours to a couple of days.'Migraine' headache is usually precipitated by certain trigger factors like stress,sunlight,smoking,alcohol or any food item.In your case,sunlight is acting as trigger factor.Please meet your physician so that he can give you a trial of anti-migraine therapy.I hope it helps.
