What Causes Throat Pain While Swallowing?

Hi, I have this pain in both sides of my throat when I swallow. They feel like bumps when I swallow. About a year ago a doctors said my lymph nodes didn t look swollen and it might be allergies. However, it has now been well over a year of this. There is dryness as well. I will say the swallowing pain and tightness is the most concerning part. What could this be?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query throat pain while swallowing could be due to upper respiratory tract infection. It could be due to sinusitis as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take tablet Sinarest at for three days along with Cetrizine at night time. For relief of throat pain take Calpol. Do warm saline gargles. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. Take luke warm water with turmeric dissolved in it. Your symptoms will start resolving, if symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Start proper antibiotic course after thorough examination. Go for fibroptic scan if your symptoms are not resolving at all to find out exact cause and then start treatment. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
