Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
The symptoms you have described suggest the possibility of pharyngitis(
sore throat). Most often it is caused by
streptococcal infection and it will respond well to antibiotic therapy.
You can do the following as a first line management:-
1.Start a short course of antibiotic therapy for five to seven days.
2.Do warm saline gargles or gargling with a numbing mouth wash.
3.If you have pain, you can use simple analgesics like
acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
4.Antihistamines like levecetrezine can be used for symptomatic relief.
5. Expectorant cough syrups can be tried to clear up mucus and secretions.
6.Take voice rest for a week and avoid cold and spicy food.
If symptoms persist despite additional investigations like throat swab and indirect
laryngoscopy (to visualize your vocal cord) may be needed under the consultation of an
ENT specialist.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
