What Causes Thinning And Dryness Of Hair?

I am a mom of 4. I m 5ft 2 about 122lbs. Five years post tubal ligation. Irregular & heavy periods. I noticed thinning hair in front hairline but didn t let it bother me. I have been put on tri sprinted which helped periods and mood. However I am really thinning on my hairline. White bulbs on root tips of hair when fall out. My hair texture has changed significantly wiry and frizzy. What is happening?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. Wats your hemoglobin level? Is it low (because of heavy periods)? What about thyroid hormones? Is the hair loss diffuse or restricted to frontline? If its diffuse, its telogen effluvium most likely. If its restricted to frontline, it could be frontal fibrosing alopecia. Telogen effluvium resoonds to healthy balanced diet, correct of low hemoglobin and deranged thyroid hormones ( if any) and topical minoxidil 2% lotion. Frontal fibrosing alopecia needs confirmation by histopathology first. Please provide details. Thanks
