What Causes Thick White Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?

Hi there. I m 6.5 months pregnant and I believe I have a yeast infection. I took the oral pill last week and nothing cleared up. I asked a pharmacist and they said due to being pregnant that the oral pills don t work as well so she suggested an insertable cream/pill and said if it doesn t clear up within a few days see a doctor. I don t have my monthly appointment until October 7. I have no odour, a clear discharge, but what I m concerned about is when I touch myself down there my fingers seem to be covered in a pulpy like white substance. Is this a yeast infection that just won t go away?

It is mostly suggestive of vaginal fungal infection for which you can take some antibiotic preferably cefadroxyl or doxycycline after an expert opinion along with avil or cetrizine for itching if present. You can take fluconazole 150 mg or use clingen-forte vaginal pessary to put into the vagina once daily for at-least 5 days. Maintain the hygiene of private part either by regular washing or you can use v-wash vaginal gel for local application.
