My mother is 92 and has been complaining of her tongue feeling fuzzy or thick. she is always trying to cough up phlem. What could this be? She has been complaining more and more over the last six months since starting to take donepezil. She has also been on Lyrica and taking 2-4 iprobrofen a day.

hello thanks for the consult at hcm..it could b due coating of tongue,, ask her to clean her tongue with a soft brush,, she is also 92 years old, may be manual dextrity is not there to clean her tongue,,and also she is taking various medicines..so try keeping her tongue clean and do salt water gargle ,,if problm persists consult an oral physician ,,hope it helps,,tc
