What Causes The Gurgling Sound From The Chest Area?
My brother slumped to the ground and was not breathing during cpr there was a gurgling sound from the chest area? Could this gurgling sound heard during cpr be from pooling of blood in chest from a burst aortic aneurism? He died. Massive MI or burst aortic aneurism? He was only 56 did not drink or smoke and was very fit.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion the gurgling sound can be due to stomach gas. In CPR during chest compression some part of stomach is also compressed. And due to this the gas present in the stomach gets squizzed and makes gurgling sound. So this can be the cause for gurgling sound. And about the cause of death, massive MI is more likely due to the age. Aneurysm is seen in mostly hypertensive patients with uncontrolled hypertension. So less possibility of aneurysm.
