What Causes The Bleeding To Continue Post Intake Of Gynera?

Hi, I m taking gynera, it s my first time using this medication and first time to be on Bcp in general. I took the pill on the first day of my period and I m still having light bleeding and it s been 9 days. Is this normal? Any ideas when I should expect the bleeding to stop? And after I finish the 21 pills and start on the 7 day tablet free week, will my period be shorter or will it also be long as I m currently experiencing. Thanks!

Hi,
I understand your concern.
This was your first course of oral contraceptive, You started on 1 st day of your menses. The drug contains hormones, these have hampered your menstrual flow. That's why the prolonged bleeding.
Continue with your pills regularly. gradually the bleeding will stop. Once you finish the packet, you will get withdrawal bleeding within 7 tablet free days. You can then start new pack as advised . Thereafter the periods will be regular.
Thanks
