What Causes Tenderness, Itchiness And Swelling In The Vagina?

I have been suffering from vaginal tenderness, itchiness and almost a swelling of the labia. I am 63 and have never had a yeast infection. My doctor suggested over the counter remedies. They really have not worked. The secretions are usually clear but have recently been slightly yellow. My doctor has mad an appointment with a gynaecologist but that is not until July. I have had blood work for diabetes and a vaginal swab. Everything has come back negative. I am normally in excellent health.

Hi I think you can be having some vaginal infection. You need a pelvic examination to rule out cervical pathology also. You may need some antibiotic and antifungal drugs orally as well as vaginal to treat that. You can use some vaginal wash to maintain a normal ph. Try some antifungal and antibiotic vaginal pessary like Clingen forte for 7 nights. Hope it helps.
