What Causes Tenderness In Breasts?

I am 65 years old and have a couple of things that have me wondering if I need to be seen by a doctor. I am having tenderness in my breasts. I am using a patch for my HRT. I also am having a strange odor that I dan t describe when I work out and sweat in the crotch area. Thanks.

Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic.
I have gone through your query.
I think I have understood your concern, I will try to suggest you the best possible treatment options.
As you have stated , that you are on HRT patch, I will suggest you to do self breast examination, and get a Mammogrphy done. Many a times breast pain may be doe to degenerative changes -fibroadenosis. It can be eased out with Cap. EVION 400 once a day, Tab B long once a day for a month. Also you can take Tab. Calpol 650 mg as and when required.
If possible switch to using SERMs which are selective estrogen receptor molecules, they help prevent post menopausal symptoms and are having good effects on bones and lipid profile ; at the same time they show protective effects on breast and uterus and endometrium.Routine HRT with estrogen, has one dis advantage that they have chances of developing breast or endometrial cancer over prolong exposure in some patients.
I will suggest you to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. This will help to reduce that smell.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
