Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday I noticed my tounge at the backside felt swollen and then I started getting pain in my throat, it feels thick and when reach for something whether I m getting up from laying down or leaning over to reach for something it feels like I m pulling a throat muscle. And it s a sore cramp feeling all the time
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swollen feeling on the backside of the tongue along with pain in throat and feeling of thickening seems to be due to throat infection and can be due to bacterial or viral infection.. The sensations you are experiencing along with swelling at the back of throat seems to be due to inflammation in throat.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen. Do warm saline gargles. Sip on warm water and take a soft diet..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
