What Causes Swollen, Red Colored Eyes?

hi, my left eye is red and sometimes swollen and can start watering for no reason. i do suffer fom hayfever but this doent feel like it as i have had it for a while now and it doent seem to be going away, i am a 16 year old girl so i do wear make up but not much but i have tried quite a few different brands, but quite often it till waters when i have no make up on, plese help

Hello,

It is likely that you have eye allergy. The exact allergen may not be known as it could be anything in the air such as pollen/dust. You can try using Refresh tears eye drops, 1 drop 4 times a day along with Alaway/Zaditor eye drops, 1 drop 2 times a day for about 3-4 weeks. There could also be associated blepharitis causing lid swelling. Give warm compresses and lid scrubs with 50:50 diluted baby shampoo.
