What Causes Swollen Foot And Leg Post Torn Quadriceps Tendon Surgery?

A few months ago I had surgery to repair a torn quadriceps tendon. Since the surgery, that leg and foot have become swollen every day. I m afraid that, during the surgery, the surgeon cut one or more of the lymph ducts in my leg. It s been drained twice, and both times about 60 cc s of clear yellowish fluid was extracted. The knee would feel better for a few hours, then the swelling would return. Do you think my suppositions could be correct, and, if so, what do I do?
