What Causes Swollen Dark Vein On Tonsil?

My right tonsil is very large and swollen with a dark red vein. It is not sore or hurting but it feels like there s an egg in the side of my throat which is bothersome. I am starting to get concerned. I had a tonsil infection about two weeks ago that went away on its own. The swollen tonsil has been making it hard to swallow because of its size but has no pain or discomfort.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen dark vein on tonsil. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like for tonsillitis strep throat , viral pharyngitis and allergic reaction. Need not to worry. You should avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages and avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti allergic , anti inflammatory and doctor may refer you to cardiologist for bulging vein . For now do warm saline gargles , take off your stress and take benadryl twice a day .
