What Causes Swollen And Painful Eyelids After Using Lyrica Tablet?

Hi, i was taking Lyrica for my back pain for approx. a month and stopped a week ago when i started having issues with my eyes as it lists one of these as a system. My eyelids become swollen and looked like i have bads under my eyes, it is itchy (not overly) and red and dry. no issue inside the eye but the other eye has cracked skin on the eyelid and again very dry. I am taking anti-histomine and applying corodizone cream lightly but it seems to be staying tere and seems to get better then get worse? I am not sure if it was the drug i was taking now or not?

Hello dear user!
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns!
Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic.
Yes it seems that lyrica has been responsible for your dry eyes and swelling. Conjuctivitis is seen commonly in people who take this drug. It may cause not only dry eyes and itching, but also vision problems, dry mouth, ulcerations, abdominal discomfort etc. Talk with the neurologist for changing the dose or replace it with another one.
Meanwhile complete the cure your are taking for the eye inflammation. If you don't see any improvements you may need a specific and professional care from the ophtalmologist. An antibiotic ointment may be needed if any kind of infection has affected your eyes.
I hope this answer was helpful to you!
