What Causes Swollen Abdomen And Weight Gain In An Insulin Dependent Diabetic?

I m 37 years old. I am an insulin dependent diabetic of 20 years. Most of which has been uncontrolled. I have a long family history of all types of cancer as well as diabeties, thyroid, and high blood pressure. Currently my abdomen and my legs keep swelling up. I m frequently short of breathe, my eye balls feel like they want to pop out of my head (a lot) and seem glassy to me, my calves feel like they want to burst and I keep throwing up after every meal and or snack, my throat burns, my sugars are crazy I have like no appetite but make myself eat and I m not losing any weight I m gaining it rapidly if you ask me. my stomach hurts a lot and I go through bouts where it feels like needles stabbing my upper thighs. I have bad cramps and ive been having periods like twice a month.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
swelling in abdomen and legs, stomach pain, cramps in thigh, Irregular periods, weight gain and swollen eyelids are complications of diabetes due to its poor control.
I will be in a better position to help you if you do these investigations; Renal function tests, HBA1C, Ultrasound abdomen and EChocardiography.
I would suggest you to have tightly controlled blood sugar level, take gabapentin or dulouxetine, domeperidone. Do regular aerobic excersize thirty minute a day five times a week. Adopt Atkin diet.
Hope it helps best.
