What Causes Swelling On The Shin And Above The Ankle?

Hi noticed I have a large indentation with mild swelling that doesn t pit when pressed on the left side of my outer shin above my ankle. My foot isn t swollen, no is there any swelling above the mentioned site. I have mild tingling to the area but no pain. I do take Metropolol 75mg PO Q Daily for tachycardia, not diabetic, I do have hashimotos but thyroid labs were all within range with no synthroid ever as of 2 months ago. What could this be? Staph infection ? No trauma to this site or bug bite that I am aware of. 30yr/Female.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
madam ..staph infection must have presented with redness or local heat or mild fever .as u state edema is non pitting .in that case you should see an orthopaedic surgeon as there should be proper clinical examination and he can order x ray to rule out any bony lesion ..non pitting edema has nothing to do with metoprolol
