What Causes Swelling On The Bridge Of The Nose Along With Mild Cough?

Hi My 3 month old had a stuffy nose and light cough for more than a week now . Around the 3rd day I noticed the bridge of his nose ( in between eyes) is swollen. Today is day 10 and it s still like that. It doesn t cause him pain when I massage it and he acts very healthy. Also should be noted he has a blocked tear duct in one eye. He s never had a fever and seems quite healthy otherwise. Thank you

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling on the bridge of the nose along with mild cough. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like viral syndrome , hay fever , sinusitis , allergens , common cold , nasal polyps and allergic reaction . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to viral infection . I would suggest you to stay hydrated , take ORS solution also , take anti histamine like zyrtec , keep away from allergens like dust and take proper rest . Sometimes sinusitis can also cause such symptoms so also go for sinusitis checkup .You can also take decongestant nasal drops containing Xylometazoline. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe anti pyretic , anti viral like acyclovir , decongestant along with analgesic .
