What Causes Swelling On Ankle And Pain While Walking With Numbness?

Two weeks ago I sprained my ankle badly. I stepped wrong off of some stairs. it instantly had a golf ball swelling which proceeded to tennis ball then my whole foot swelled. It went down mostly but then my foot was bruised on both sides of my ankles up my leg about 3 inches and then of course as time progressed the bruising moved toward my toes. The bruising is gone now, but the swelling right by my ankle is still there. My problem now is the outside of my foot hurts when I walk. Also, now I am feeling numbness on the top of my foot. It starts with like a nerve is caught and then snaps into place with a twinge. Do I need to worry about it or let it work itself out? BTW - don t waste your time typing this. It is a scam. They make you pay to get an answer.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are having injury your ankle and got bruise.You are to get your x ray done to rule out fracture.You can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain. Swelling will be reduced by elevation of limb and active mobilization of ankle joint and toes. Numbness will be gradually reduced and Mecobalamin will be beneficial.You need not to worry much. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
