What Causes Swelling In Veins?

Hi, I'm a college student (just turned 20), and I play rugby. Last week during practice, full contact, I think I bruised a vein on the top of my right hand. It didn't hurt right away, but lowering my hand caused the vein to swell and was intensely painful. It went away after a few days and I didn't think much of it. I just hit it against a table by accident and the same spot has started to swell again. Could it be vericose veins caused by impact?

No, it is a vein injury of a superficial vein. It will get relieved over a few days with no permanent effects. Put a compression bandage and take some anti-inflammatory medicines like Paracetamol or Diclofenac sodium for 3-4 days for the pain and swelling. Take care,
