What Causes Swelling In The Uvula?

I have been taking nitric oxide activator for a few days. I noticed that my mouth felt strange and my uvula was very swollen. Diagnosed with Strep Throat. After 2 days on penicillin uvula was almost back to normal so I once again took the Nitric Oxide. (pixi stik form). When I awoke in the morning my uvula was swollen again. Could this be an allergic reaction?
